In lockdown, I spent a lot of time alone. I searched for materials around me to create art – and then it dawned on me: why not experiment with myself as a brush and physically engage with my artwork? I wanted to create art in a way I had never done before and not be too self-conscious about myself. This piece is part performance and painting, and an ongoing experiment that is different from what I usually do. I have been drawn lately to work with concept over form, to leave viewers to come up with meanings on their own.
